Dentistry

We have a range of dental rasps and instruments and can tackle most problems from simple floating to removing wolf teeth or even broken molars. We can also x-ray tooth roots and sinuses when required. Many horses require sedation to do a thorough job safely for both the horse and handler. We are happy to work alongside a qualified Equine Dental Technician and we are able to sedate horses for an equine dentist to treat your horse but we have to charge for our time while we establish the horse is adequately and safely sedate. If we have to wait to sedate a second horse this can add up to a significant cost. We can prescribe sedative gels for you to use at home but there can be significant drawbacks and risks associated with their use which we would always need to discuss with you prior to prescribing the drugs.
