Passports

All horses must be registered and have their own passport. New horses being registered must also be micro-chipped. We can provide chips and registration forms or you can often get them from your breed society.  Micro-chips are more easily placed and less traumatic for the horse if implanted as young foals.

Your passport is a legal document which must be kept up to date with vaccinations and other medications. We are required to check the passport before we give any medications so please make it available to the vet when they come to treat your horse. There are many drugs that cannot be given to horses destined for the human food chain so if you know that you do not want this for your horse then please ensure that the appropriate section of the passport is correctly filled in.
